The South Carolina Burned Children’s Fund is a charity organization that operates under the auspices of the South Carolina Firefighters Foundation. The SC Firefighters Foundation is an IRS 501 (c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization.

It’s a camp tradition to have a campfire with smores, watermelon, and glow sticks! Campers negative experience with fire or a burn is made into a positive, fun, and safe experience, as fire is a tool commonly used in cooking and heating.

All campers get a camp backpack that is packed with camper essentials including a t-shirt, hat, sunscreen, Chapstick, hand sanitizer, sunglasses. Many camp backpacks are used for school!

On average, it costs $1,000 per camper to attend the 5-day camp. There is no cost to the camper and family.

It’s a camp tradition to have a dance party the last night of camp to celebrate all the friendships made and new experiences during the week.

Each cabin houses several campers. Campers name their cabin and it becomes their group identity for the week. Cabin flags are created and proudly displayed outside of each cabin.
